Miranda Rights and Non-US Citizens

Question: Do Miranda rights apply to non-US citizens?

Answer: The Constitution applies to people within the United States, unless they have some sort of diplomatic immunity. Otherwise, the same rights apply that would apply to citizens. However, the Miranda rights in general continue to be watered down, just like all of the other Constitutional rights, to the point that there are many, many exceptions that apply. However, non-citizens enjoy the same protections in the context of a criminal investigation conducted within the confines of the United States.
